3D GEM Knowledge Series Webinar 1
Topic: Bio-Inductive 3D Printing for Bone Tissue Engineering
Speaker: Dr. Sumit Murab
Designation: Associate Professor, School of Biosciences & Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology Mandi
About the Speaker
Dr. Sumit Murab's research focuses on tissue engineering, biomaterials, 3D printing and bioprinting, regenerative medicine, and disease models. His laboratory at IIT Mandi develops bioactive material systems for orthopedic tissue regeneration, with particular emphasis on bio-inductive scaffolds and advanced 3D-printing approaches for bone repair.
Webinar Overview
Bone tissue engineering aims to restore damaged or diseased bone using engineered biomaterials that can guide and stimulate natural tissue regeneration. This webinar will explore how bio-inductive 3D-printed scaffolds can mimic the biological and structural properties of bone, promoting cell attachment, growth, vascularization, and tissue formation. Participants will gain insights into recent advances in biomaterials, scaffold design, biofunctionalization strategies, and translational applications of 3D printing in regenerative medicine.
