Presentation Topic : “ 3D Concrete printing : Sustainability perspective”.
Abstract :
3D concrete printing is emerging as a transformative approach for constructing complex, customized, and resource-efficient structures. However, the sustainability of 3D printed concrete extends beyond replacing conventional construction methods; it depends fundamentally on material selection, mix design, waste utilization, energy consumption, toolpath planning, structural efficiency, and the complete life cycle of printed structures. In this presentation, I will discuss how sustainability can be integrated across the 3D concrete printing workflow—from low-carbon and circular material development to geometry, printing strategies, and application-oriented design. I will highlight opportunities, challenges, and research directions toward more sustainable, scalable, resilient, and efficient construction systems worldwide.
