Presentation Topic : The Latest Advancements and Real-World Applications of 3D Printing & 3D Visualisation in Orthopaedic Surgery and Musculoskeletal Oncology
Abstract :
Three-dimensional printing and advanced 3D visualisation are transforming contemporary orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal oncology by enabling patient-specific planning, precise tumour resection and personalised reconstruction. This presentation will explore real-world applications of CT/MRI-based 3D modelling, virtual surgical planning, patient-specific cutting guides, anatomical models, customised implants and 3D-printed prosthetic solutions. Particular emphasis will be placed on complex bone tumours, limb-salvage procedures and challenging anatomical reconstructions. The session will demonstrate how these technologies can improve surgical precision, facilitate multidisciplinary planning, optimise reconstruction and potentially enhance functional outcomes while reducing surgical uncertainty and improving personalised patient care.
