Er. Kaushik Seal

Er. Kaushik Kumar Seal is a distinguished marine engineer and maritime industry leader with over 40 years of professional experience spanning marine engineering, shipping operations, technical management, digital transformation and green maritime technologies. He serves as President of the Institute of Marine Engineers (India) (IMEI), contributing to the advancement of the marine engineering profession and the development of India's maritime sector.

A graduate of the Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Kolkata, Mr. Seal began his career at sea and progressed from Fifth Engineer to Chief Engineer with the Great Eastern Shipping Company. He subsequently transitioned to shore-based leadership roles with prominent international organisations, including Lloyd's Register, ABS Quality Evaluations, Germanischer Lloyd, DNV, StormGeo and Njord, the green technology business associated with Maersk Tankers.

His professional expertise encompasses ship operations, marine engineering, quality assurance, classification and certification, technical training, digital solutions, vessel efficiency and maritime decarbonisation. He has actively supported initiatives promoting sustainable shipping, energy efficiency and technology-driven innovation across the maritime industry.

Mr. Seal is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) and the Institute of Marine Engineers (India), and a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Engineers (India).

Through his leadership and industry engagement, he continues to encourage professional development, collaboration and sustainable technological advancement within India's maritime ecosystem.
